Juan Varela

Juan Varela has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Juan started their career at GE Power in 2000 as part of the Edison Engineering Development Program. Over the years, they progressed through various roles, including Engineer, Lead Engineer, Technical Lead, and finally Manager of Chemistry Engineering. In 2018, Juan joined Bloom Energy as a Senior Program Manager, where they managed the installation of Solid Oxide Fuel Cells on customer sites, ranging from small generators to large-scale microgrids and utility installations. In their role, they were responsible for overseeing projects from contract to commissioning, coordinating with internal teams and managing general contractors. As of December 2020, Juan holds the position of Lead in the West Coast Project Management team at Bloom Energy.

Juan Varela obtained a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. Juan also received a Green Belt Six Sigma Certification from GE Power.
