Karla completed a PhD in Horticulture and Agronomy at the University of California, Davis, where involvement in the Pierce's Disease Resistance Breeding Program included overseeing multiple research projects. Experience also includes roles as a Clinical Laboratory Technician, Event Coordinator, Research Associate Intern, Assistant Secretary, and Research Assistant, highlighting a diverse skill set in research, laboratory practices, event management, and data organization. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez and Universidad de Sevilla, respectively.
