Eric Schvimmer

Eric Schvimmer has a diverse and extensive work experience in the technology industry. Eric is currently serving as the EVP of Technology / CTO at Bloomberg Industry Group since August 2018. In this role, they have been responsible for the technical strategy, development, and technical operations for customer-facing and internal systems. Eric directly manages a team of around 300 technical professionals located in multiple geographic locations.

Prior to their current position, Schvimmer worked as the Head of R&D / CTO Bloomberg Consumer Media at Bloomberg LP from November 2012 to August 2018. Eric managed the strategic and day-to-day technical direction for Bloomberg's consumer-facing internet properties, reaching over 90 million unique users per month.

Before their role at Bloomberg, Schvimmer served as the Head of R&D / CTO at Bloomberg BGov from December 2010 to March 2013. Eric built engineering teams in three locations and established Bloomberg's Washington DC engineering center, contributing to the launch of the web-based subscription government information product bgov.com.

Schvimmer also has experience working as the Head of Content Site Engineering / CTO Marketplace Solutions - AOL Media at AOL from August 2008 to December 2010, as well as the Vice President of Technology at SearchIgnite from June 2007 to July 2008.

In addition, Schvimmer has held various leadership roles at Washingtonpost.Newsweek Interactive from February 1990 to April 2006, including Vice President, Technology.

Eric started their career at Viar & Company as a member of the Technical Staff from April 1987 to January 1990, and earlier, as a Programer/Analyst at MCI Telecommunications from May 1986 to April 1987.
