Position Purpose: The Sr. Electrical Test Engineer will engage in the Electrical and Systems engineering disciplines to develop requirements and architecture to design a test methodology for flight hardware.  The engineer will select test equipment, developing LabView or other software for low level hardware interfacing as well as test executive scripting language like COSMOS to interface to the test equipment to provide physical, electrical, and functional interfaces to the DUT for full test coverage based on requirements.  The engineer will design the data lake produced through test execution and the tools to mine the data lake for production, design, and test engineering needs.   Specific interfacing hardware design is the responsibility of the Test Engineer.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $185,000

(Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop LabVIEW with National Instruments and other COTS targets to perform test execution and data logging on flight and engineering hardware.

  • Take a leadership role, working with engineers of other disciplines to develop test sets tailored for the verification of board and box level avionics.

  • Initiative to identify and complete tasks with evolving requirements and minimal direction.

  • Work in a fast-paced team environment on a variety of R&D, proof of concept, and production programs.

  • May include personnel management responsibilities

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications/Education:

  • BS degree or higher in Engineering and 7 or more years LabVIEW and scripting experience.

  • Experience with script writing in COSMOS.  Desired experience with Ruby and Python.

  • Strong coding background, Windows and object-oriented architectures.

  • Current knowledge of industry standard software engineering practices, including agile methodologies, open-source licensing, unit testing, code development and configuration management.

  • Electrical engineering design experience with custom special test equipment is highly desired.

  • Experience with test sets in cleanroom, laboratory, and/or production environments.

  • System modeling and analysis experience using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.

  • Aerospace or military experience is desired but not required.

  • Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education

Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.  However, factors such as candidate flow and business necessity may require BCT to shorten or extend the application window.
