Jan Evans

In her role as senior director of enterprise platforms, Evans oversees the operations of the company’s key technology platforms, including configuration and release management.

In her more than 15 years at BCBSNE, Evans has also served as the senior director of Information Services, helping the department make the transition to an agile methodology as well as two large system migrations. She has also had responsibility for the data and API functions, consumer technology solutions, business analytics and enterprise data governance and enterprise testing.

Before coming to BCBSNE, Evans worked at the Iowa Department of Public Health as a program manager, where she led statewide initiatives for large programs, such as the birth certificate replacement effort, the emergency medical transport certification system and the Iowa immunization registry. She also served on the State of Iowa information technology advisory board.

Evans earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Iowa State University. She serves on the American Cancer Society board of directors and the eHealth Council of Nebraska Information Technology Commission. She is also very passionate about recruiting more women and girls to IT and participates in many community outreach activities focused on this goal.
