Dean Wiersma has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. Dean began their career as a Development Engineer at Loveland Controls Company in 1985, where they worked for ten years. In 1995, they joined Honeywell Process Solutions as a Senior Engineer and stayed with the company for a decade. In 2005, Dean transitioned to Ice Energy as a Senior Development Engineer, where they played a crucial role in developing a thermal energy storage product utilizing water in the form of ice as the storage medium. Dean was responsible for thermal processes, efficiency, control and controller development, production, and testing, including testing for UL approval. In 2012, they moved to Ice Energy Technologies as a Senior Development Engineer, managing the evaluation of a thermo-electric generator and enhancing a custom controller for a generic application.
Dean then joined Peak Efficiency in 2013 as the Director of Engineering, a position they held until 2016. During this time, they played a key role in overseeing the engineering department and its operations. Dean then joined Evaporcool in 2016 as the Performance Monitoring & Controls Director, where they worked until 2018.
Dean's most recent work experience is with Blue Frontier, Inc., where they have held two senior roles. Dean started in 2020 as a Senior Product Engineer and advanced to the position of Senior Mechanical Engineer in 2021.
Dean Wiersma obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and Math from Dordt University, where they studied from 1978 to 1983. Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Engineering, specializing in the field of study of Engineering, at Colorado State University, completing their studies from 1983 to 1985.
