David Walter

David is an experienced risk management software executive with over 25 years in the risk management and cybersecurity markets, both as a practitioner and vendor. As a passionate business leader with deep finance, product development, and go to market experience, David loves to assist teams deliver moments of customer delight as they work to bring the worlds of business and security together. Prior to Blue Lava, David held various leadership roles over 15 years at Archer guiding the strategy and its execution as it became a leading Governance, Risk and Compliance solution. Prior to Archer, David was a public accountant (CPA), internal auditor, and Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

In addition to working at Blue Lava, David is an active advisor in the cybersecurity and risk management markets as he assists various Venture Capital and Private Equity firms with their investment strategies, as well as guiding the CEOs of several start-ups as they strive to scale their own businesses.

David holds a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
