Mike Lee is a seasoned professional in the field of biology with extensive experience in bioinformatics and microbial ecology. Currently serving as a Principal Investigator at the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center since March 2024, Mike has also held the position of Research Scientist at the Blue Marble Space Institute of Science since October 2019. Prior to these roles, Mike worked as a Bioinformatician at NASA GeneLab and as a Space Biology Postdoctoral Fellow at NASA Ames Research Center. Educational credentials include a PhD in Biology from the University of Southern California, where the dissertation focused on marine photoautotroph-heterotroph interactions, along with a BS in Biology from Kean University and an AS in Biology from Ocean County College. Additional experiences include internships at NASA Ames Research Center and NASA Kennedy Space Center, where valuable skills in microbial ecology and antimicrobial technologies were developed.
