Mauricio Cerda

Mauricio Cerda has over 15 years of work experience in various roles within the IT and data engineering field. Mauricio currently works as the Sr Big Data Engineer Lead at Blue Orange Digital, where they are responsible for architecting and maintaining modern, scalable data architectures on AWS. Their role also involves building resilient production ETL pipelines and deploying and scaling machine learning models in production.

Before joining Blue Orange Digital, Mauricio worked as a Big Data Engineer at Konfio from August 2019 to November 2020. Prior to that, they held the same position at Segundamano México from January 2019 to August 2019.

Mauricio has also worked at AXA in different roles. From November 2016 to January 2019, they served as an IT Architect & Data Engineer. Before that, they worked as a Big Data Engineer at AXA en France from February 2016 to October 2016. Mauricio also worked as an ECM Technical Lead at AXA from September 2014 to January 2016.

Earlier in their career, Mauricio held several roles at AXA from 2009 to 2014, including Innovation Manager and Solution Delivery Manager. Mauricio was responsible for coordinating IT requirements, defining and prioritizing business requirements, and implementing development standards.

Prior to their time at AXA, Mauricio worked as an IT PMO at ING from October 2007 to December 2008. In this role, they ensured adherence to project management standards and was responsible for reporting to the Executive Committee.

Mauricio's career began at PSAV, where they worked as a Project Manager from September 2006 to October 2007. Their responsibilities included market research and analysis, requirements analysis, and development of formats for personnel requisition and cost control.

Mauricio Cerda completed their Bachelor of Computer Sciences (BS) and Business Administration (BA) from Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they studied Ciencias de la computación, from 2000 to 2005. Mauricio also obtained several additional certifications, including the Astronomer Certification DAG Authoring for Apache Airflow and Astronomer Certification for Apache Airflow Fundamentals from Astronomer in October 2022. In November 2018, they completed the certifications for Introduction to Data Science in Python from Coursera and Linux: Mastering the Linux Command Line from Udemy. Mauricio also earned certifications in Capstone: Retrieving, Processing, and Visualizing Data with Python and Using Databases with Python from Coursera in October 2018. Furthermore, they received the MIT - Certificate of Completion: Tackling the Challenges of Big Data from edX in March 2015.
