David Hewitt

David Hewitt is an experienced aerospace professional currently serving as the Propulsion Team Lead at Blue Origin since February 2023, focusing on the development of the Orbital Reef Space Station and acting as a Club for the Future Ambassador. Prior to this role, David held various positions at Dynetics, Inc. from December 2009 to February 2023, including System Safety Engineer and Propulsion Engineer, where extensive work in project engineering, systems engineering, and test engineering contributed to a variety of propulsion projects and business development activities. Additional experience includes working as a Propulsion Engineer at Orion Propulsion Incorporated, a Fluid Systems Component Engineer at Teledyne Brown Engineering, and a Test Engineer at Aerojet. David began the aerospace journey as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the University of Alabama in Huntsville's Propulsion Research Center and has a Master of Science in Aerospace Systems Engineering as well as a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the same institution.
