David Gottfried

Chief Global Impact Officer at Blue Planet

David Gottfried has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies and roles. David is currently serving as the Chief Global Impact Officer at Blue Planet, where they are focused on accelerating the commercialization of the company's carbon-negative concrete and expanding its sustainability and ESG programs.

Prior to Blue Planet, Gottfried founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) from 1992 to 1994. During their time at USGBC, they wrote the white paper that became the LEED Green Building Rating System and played a crucial role in establishing the organization as the foremost global green building nonprofit.

In 1998, Gottfried founded the World Green Building Council (WGBC) and served as its Chief Executive Officer. Under their leadership, the WGBC brought together green building councils from over 70 countries, promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly practices globally.

Gottfried also held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Reset360 from 2014 to 2021, where they spearheaded the company's online product stores and led product launches. David played a key role in doubling business growth through business development strategies and formulated successful consumer packaged goods (CPG) products.

At Regenerative Network, Gottfried served as the Chief Executive Officer from 2009 to 2016. David established a comprehensive network of green product manufacturers and facilitated enhanced green performance in retail and corporate real estate buildings through RegenCharrettes. David also organized annual forums for prominent global companies, including SalesForce, Starbucks, Walmart, Clifbar, Davita, and Whole Foods.

Gottfried was the Chief Executive Officer of Regenerative Ventures, Inc. from 1995 to 2016, delivering exemplary leadership to the company's clients in the building industry, including Fortune 50 companies and governments.

Additionally, they held senior positions at Thomas Properties Group, SIGAL Construction Corporation, Intertech Development Company, and Sigal/Zuckerman Company, where they played key roles in strategic planning, green building initiatives, and project management.

Throughout their career, Gottfried has made significant contributions to the advancement of sustainability and green building practices, both domestically and internationally.

David Gottfried attended Stanford University from 1978 to 1982, where they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering & Resource Management.
