Chris Shearer

Chris Shearer has a diverse work experience in the field of information technology. Chris is currently serving as the Principal Cyber Defense Specialist at Blue Shield of California since October 2022. Prior to this, they worked at American Pacific Mortgage as an Information Security Engineer II from March 2020 to October 2022, and as a System Engineer II from June 2016 to March 2020. Chris also gained experience at Kratos Defense and Security Solutions, where they held the positions of Network Administrator III from March 2013 to June 2016, Network Administrator II from August 2010 to March 2013, and Network Administrator I from August 2008 to August 2010. Earlier in their career, they worked at Bayside Church as a Business IT Administrator from January 2006 to August 2008, and at Midtown Micro as a System Network Administrator from September 2003 to December 2005.

Chris Shearer graduated from Azusa Pacific University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Computer Information Systems. In terms of certifications, they obtained a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in December 2012, a VMware Certified Professional 5 - Data Center Virtualization (VCP5-DCV) certification from VMware in February 2014, a VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 - Data Center Design (VCAP5-DCD) certification from VMware in January 2016, a GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from the SANS Institute in August 2017, and an Insight VM Certified Administrator certification from Rapid7 in October 2021.
