Francis Pierciey

Francis Pierciey has over a decade of experience in the biotechnology field, currently serving as Vice President and Head of Research at bluebird bio since June 2011. Throughout this tenure, Francis has held multiple leadership roles, including Senior Director positions in Data Sciences & Clinical Assay Development, Strategy, Corporate Development & Analytics, and Sickle Translational & Next Generation Development. Prior to bluebird bio, experience included a role as Senior Research Assistant at Aileron Therapeutics, and a Graduate Student at the University of Pennsylvania. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry from Roger Williams University.
