Katerina Vafia

Senior Scientist at DyNAbind GmbH

Katerina Vafia has extensive work experience in the field of scientific research. Katerina is currently employed at DyNAbind GmbH as a Senior Scientist since January 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden from September 2014 to January 2020. Katerina also gained experience as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the High-Throughput Technology Development Studio (TDS) at Max Planck Insitute MPI-CBG from September 2014 to October 2016. In addition, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Auckland, Human Nutrition Unit from September 2013 to March 2014. Katerina also completed a Master Internship at the University of Cordoba, CIQUIBIC - CONICET in 2008, and participated in the Socrates-Erasmus Program at Utrecht University in 2005.

Katerina Vafia received their education from multiple institutions. From 2009 to 2013, they attended the University of Lübeck, where they pursued a PhD in Autoimmune skin diseases. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree from Wageningen University & Research from 2006 to 2008 in Nutrition and Health. Their earliest education was at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained a Diploma in Biology from the Faculty of Natural Sciences.
