Gerry Klopfer

VP & Chief Actuary at BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York

Gerry Klopfer joined BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York in 1996 and is the company’s vice president, chief actuary.

Klopfer is responsible for all actuarial functions including: corporate rating structures and premium development, claims reserve and related financial estimation, provider and vendor network analytics, trend forecasting and analysis, and alternative reimbursement strategy support.

In Klopfer’s 25 year tenure with BlueCross BlueShield, he has served in increasing roles and responsibilities in actuarial services.

Klopfer earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and an Associate of the Society of Actuaries.
