Huilan Yao

Huilan Yao has extensive experience in the field of translational medicine and biomarker research. Huilan is currently serving as the Director of Translational Medicine at Blueprint Medicines. Prior to this, they held the position of Clinical Biomarker Lead at Takeda, where they focused on oncology precision and translational medicine. Before joining Takeda, Yao worked as an Associate Director of Translational Science at Constellation Pharmaceuticals. Huilan also has experience working at H3 Biomedicine, where they served as a Senior Investigator and Scientific Investigator in the Biomarker and CDx department. Yao began their career as a Research Scientist at Molecular Testing Labs. Throughout their career, Yao has been extensively involved in clinical trials, assay development, data analysis, and training and mentoring research associates.

Huilan Yao graduated from Tsinghua University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biological Sciences and Biotechnology. Huilan then pursued a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Tsinghua University from 2005 to 2007. Huilan went on to complete their education at Oregon Health & Science University, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Cell and Developmental Biology from 2007 to 2014.
