Jason Jepsen

Sr. Energy Systems Engineer at Blueprint Power

Jason Jepsen has been working in the energy industry since 1996. Jason began their career at Mountain Power Design as a Solar Energy & Hydronic Heating Contractor, where they installed over 1,000 systems per State mechanical codes and managed contractor crews, materials and building projects in remote environments. In 2012, they moved to Commercial Energy Consulting, LLC as an Energy Engineer, Principal, where they developed and implemented energy projects for commercial, industrial, and agricultural facilities. In 2018, they joined Siemens as an Energy Engineer / Project Developer, where they were the project engineer of chilled water systems optimization for central utility plants in hospitals, universities, office towers and manufacturing facilities. Currently, they are employed at Blueprint Power as a Sr. Energy Systems Engineer, where they are responsible for determining flexible capacity opportunities and supporting the design and installation of a network of distributed energy resources (DERs) across multiple client portfolios.

Jason Jepsen obtained their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Energy Engineering from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2017. Jason also attended Portland State University from 2011-2012, where they earned a Graduate Sustainability Studies in Economics and Green Building. Prior to that, they attended Naropa University from 1992-1993, where they earned a B.A. in Religious Studies with a focus on Buddhist Logic. Jason also attended Northwestern University from 1988-1990, studying Engineering and Economics. In addition to their formal education, Jepsen has obtained several certifications, including a Certified Energy Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers in 2012, a Certified Building Commissioning Professional from the Association of Energy Engineers in 2016, a USDA Technical Service Provider, Energy Audits from the USDA in 2013, and a Certified Demand-Side Manager (CDSM) from the Association of Energy Engineers in 2013.
