Michigan State Chapter President at Blueprints For Pangaea

Meghana Karumuri's work experience includes:

- Currently working as a Professorial Assistant at the Michigan State University Department of Pharmacology & Toxicology, where they use C. elegans to study the role of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) and environmental chemicals in neurodegenerative disease.

- Also currently serving as an Undergraduate Learning Assistant (ULA) at the Michigan State University Center for Integrative Studies in General Science, where they assist students in understanding course material for Applied Environmental & Organismal Biology.

- Previously held the position of Michigan State Chapter Vice President at Blueprints For Pangaea, a student-led organization involved in collecting and redistributing medical supplies to countries in need.

- Worked as a Summer Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, focusing on the relationship between Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis and Uveitis disease activity.

- Served as a Professorial Assistant at the Michigan State University Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, where they conducted research on the relationship between HIV status, dietary fatty acids, and cognition in children from low-middle-income countries.

- Interned at Grades of Green, a global environmental non-profit organization, where they worked in the Marketing and Communications team.

- Previously worked as a Nursery Childcare Employee at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Farmington Hills, teaching and caring for children aged 1-14.

Meghana Karumuri obtained a high school diploma from Farmington High School from 2019 to 2021. Currently, they are pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology at Michigan State University, which they are expected to complete between 2021 and 2024. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained a certification in Microsoft PowerPoint (Office 2016) from Microsoft in June 2019.
