Usha Rani

Usha Rani has extensive work experience in the field of internal audit and compliance. Usha started their career as an Audit Senior at Deloitte Malaysia, where they conducted financial audits and statutory audits for various companies. Usha then worked as a Senior Internal Auditor at Aktif Lifestyles Stores Sdn Bhd, where they were responsible for enterprise risk assessment and audit plan execution. Usha Rani later served as the Head of Internal Audit at PLB Engineering Bhd, where they established a contemporary Internal Audit Department and promoted a governance framework. Usha then joined Maxis Mobile as a Manager Internal Audit, specializing in fraud investigations and compliance monitoring. Usha Rani further expanded their expertise as a Group Internal Audit Manager at GCH Retail, where they developed and executed risk-based audit plans for retail stores. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President Ethics & Compliance at BlueScope, where they manage internal audit strategies and compliance activities for their Asia portfolio.

Usha Rani obtained a BA in Accounting & Finance from Lancaster University in 1992. Usha then pursued further education at the Emile Woolf College of Accountancy in London, where they obtained their ACCA degree in Accounting and Finance in 1994. Usha Rani also obtained additional certifications including the Chartered Accountant certification from the Malaysia Institute of Accountants in 1999, and the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification from the IIA-The Institute of Internal Auditors.
