Paul McDonald is a Professor Emeritus and Senior Scholar at York University, bringing over 40 years of expertise in public and population health, health promotion, chronic disease prevention, and healthcare capacity building. McDonald served as Dean of the Faculty of Health, managing a diverse academic community of 10,000 students across various health disciplines. Recent board memberships include the Alzheimer Society of Sarnia-Lambton and Bluewater Health. Previously, McDonald held distinguished roles at Massey University as Pro Vice Chancellor of the College of Health and as Professor and Director at the University of Waterloo's School of Public Health. Academically, McDonald earned a PhD in Health Studies from the University of Waterloo and a MA in Clinical Psychology from the University of Western Ontario.
