Mike Zimmer

Mike Zimmer is the Managing Director of Storage Development at BlueWave Solar. Prior to this, they served as the Managing Director of Solar Development at BlueWave from February 2021 to April 2022. From March 2019 to February 2021, Mike served as the Vice President of Development for New England at Soltage LLC. Mike was also the Regional Director for New England at Soltage LLC from September 2018 to March 2019 and the Director of Development for Northeast at Soltage LLC from April 2017 to September 2018.

Mike has also worked as the Senior Manager for Solar PV Project Development at Ameresco from April 2016 to April 2017. In this role, they were responsible for securing project awards for commercial scale solar PV, as well as structuring and negotiating power purchase contracts with municipal and private sector customers. Mike also managed the solar PV development engineering team and led business growth in Northeast markets for commercial scale solar PV. Prior to this, they served as the Manager for Solar PV Grid Tie Project Development at Ameresco from November 2014 to April 2016.

Mike began their career in the solar industry as a Project Development Engineer for Ameresco from May 2013 to November 2014. Mike then became an Associate Project Development Engineer for Ameresco from May 2012 to May 2013.

Zimmer began their educational career by earning a Bachelor of Arts in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Connecticut College. Mike then went on to earn a Masters of Science in Energy Systems Engineering from Northeastern University.
