The Opportunity:

BluMetric is looking for a dynamic full time Intermediate/Senior Mechanical Designer to join our multi discipline CleanTech design team at our Carp Office location (this is a Hybrid role). The ideal candidate will be developing systems in the expanding industry of water and wastewater treatment.    

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working with a team on the design of water and wastewater treatment systems.

  • Responsible for system design, plumbing layouts, detail design drawings, component selection/sourcing, and pump sizing.

  • Generation of 3D models of the complete system using SolidWorks.

  • Mentoring and developing junior engineers and designers.

  • Checking drawings.

  • Department Processes and procedures.

  • Assist in site work when required.

Key Qualifications, Education, and Skills:

  • Mechanical Engineer/Technologist with a minimum 10-years proven design experience.

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in any of the following areas of: mechanical fabrication, plumbing design, pump selection and sizing.

  • Must be an advanced user of 3D modelling and drawings in SolidWorks, or similar 3D CAD system.

  • Extensive experience generating/checking production ready engineering drawings.

  • Experience with Solidworks PDM considered an asset.

  • Knowledge and experience in MS Office.

  • Highly effective communication skillsets - reading, writing, and verbal.

  • Travel and periods away from your normal place of work may be required.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Currently holds or is eligible to obtain a minimum Reliability Status security clearance.
