Essayas Kassa began their career in 2020 as a Computer Lab Assistant at the University of Prince Edward Island. Essayas also worked as a Teaching Assistant and Undergraduate Research Assistant at the same institution. In 2021, Essayas began working as a Machine Learning Researcher at the UPEI School of Mathematical and Computational Sciences, a Software Developer at NuWelCom, and a Software Developer/Research Assistant at the UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation. At NuWelCom, Essayas was part of a team that created a web App for the government of agriculture PEI and developed and maintained an IOS app. At the UPEI School of Climate Change and Adaptation, Essayas built an interactive web prototype APP and developed and trained a neural network to detect plant-based diseases. Essayas was also featured on CBC for their accomplishments. In 2022, Essayas began working as a Backend Software Developer at BluWave-ai.
