Graham Ferns has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Graham served as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at BME, a Member of the Omnia Group, from August 2016 until the present, and as the Financial Director/CFO of Bulk Mining Explosives within the same company from August 2016 to May 2020. Prior to that, they were the CFO of Foskor from April 2014 to March 2016, responsible for finance and strategy. Graham worked as the CFO at Insimbi Refractory and Alloy Supplies Limited from January 2012 to March 2014, where they prepared annual reports and managed the audit process. Graham also served as the CFO at Chemical Specialties Limited from January 2010 to December 2011, where they managed the global finance team and improved reporting processes. Before that, they were the owner and shareholder of ISA Hospitality, where they built a business to supply products to the hotel and catering industry. Graham also held the position of CFO for Africa and South Africa at G4S Security Services from October 2002 to December 2005 and served as the CFO of the Branded Apparel Division at Sara Lee Branded Apparel from August 1996 to September 2002.
Graham Ferns completed their high school education at Northlands Boys in Durban, obtaining a Matric Exemption. Graham then attended UNISA from 1981 to 1986, where they earned a B.Compt (Honours) degree in Accounting, Audit, and Tax. In 1988, they obtained the Chartered Accountant CA (SA) degree from SAICA. Additionally, they obtained a certification called CA (SA) and Honours degree Bachelor of Accounting Sciences from the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants in an unspecified year.
