Steven Strauss

Steven Strauss is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in safety, health, environment, risk, and quality management, currently serving as the BME SHERQ Manager for Southern Africa at BME, a Member of the Omnia Group, since February 2010. In this role, Steven oversees SHERQ operations for both open cast and underground operations across South Africa, Namibia, and Botswana. Prior to this position, Steven held several key roles at BME, including Bulk SHEQ Manager, Operation Manager, drill and blast planner, and Electronic Technician between January 2006 and May 2009. Steven holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology from the University of Pretoria and a postgraduate diploma in Secondary Education and Teaching from the University of South Africa.
