Kathleen Lyons

Kathleen Lyons has extensive work experience in the publishing industry. Kathleen worked as the Head of Portfolio at BMJ since September 2022 and previously held the position of Publisher, BMJ Americas from April 2017 to September 2022. Prior to their time at BMJ, they were an Executive Editor at Springer Nature from January 2016 to April 2017. Kathleen also served as the Head of Editorial & Author Services for Academic Journals at Nature Publishing Group / Palgrave Macmillan in 2015. Before that, they held the role of Publisher, Academic Journals at Nature Publishing Group from 2009 to 2015. Kathleen spent the early years of their career at Springer, where they held various editorial positions, including Editorial Director, Biomedicine from 2004 to 2009 and Senior Editor / Executive Editor, Biomedicine from 2000 to 2004. Kathleen started their publishing career as an Editor / Developmental Editor at Thieme in 1996.

Kathleen Lyons holds a BA in English Literature and French from Gettysburg College.
