Bridget E. Engle is the Chief Operations and Technology Officer for BNY Mellon, and is a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Bridget leads Global Operations and Technology, which provides scalable and resilient solutions across the Firm’s Businesses, Technology and Operations by driving scale, agility and client-centric teams. Global Operations and Technology leverages technology platforms and applications that support BNY Mellon’s role as the leading provider of solutions to the financial markets, while ensuring seamless delivery through best-in-class operational delivery.

Bridget is responsible for setting the strategic direction and execution of the Firm’s Operations and Technology agenda, which includes guiding the firm’s nearly $5 billion in 2019 investments to support resiliency, cybersecurity and innovative digital solutions as well supporting every stage of the client investment lifecycle including account creation, trading, clearing and settlement and servicing of assets. Bridget delivers excellence through integration and key alignments within the bank to create a unique agile workflow – driving efficiencies, building capacity to scale, and overseeing the innovation of future products.

Before joining BNY Mellon, Bridget was the Global Commercial Banking & Markets Technology executive for Bank of America, where she led a global team providing end-to-end technology solutions and support for its Global Banking and Global Markets businesses. Prior to that role, Bridget was Bank of America’s Consumer Banking Technology & Operations chief information officer, where she led a team that transformed the online and mobile banking platforms to serve the needs of more than 48 million consumer and small business relationships.

Bridget joined Bank of America in 2010 from Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) where she was managing director and chief technology officer responsible for overseeing critical application and technology infrastructure, including core networking services, processing and messaging systems, distributed systems and business continuity. Prior to this, she spent 19 years at Lehman Brothers and held numerous technology management positions including chief information officer and global head of business continuity, chief technology officer and managing director and global head of e-Commerce technology. Bridget has also held various technical roles for AT&T Bell Laboratories.

In 2013, Bank Systems and Technology named Bridget as one of the “2013 Elite 8” bank technology leaders. She was also named in 2007 as one of the “100 Most Influential Women in NYC Business” by Crain’s New York Business and has been noted as one of technology’s “Top Power Women” by Forbes.com.
