Joseph Abrajano

Joseph Abrajano, PhD, CMPP has a diverse work experience spanning over 18 years. Joseph currently serves as the Medical Education, Research, and External Funding Team Lead at Boehringer Ingelheim since June 2020. Prior to this role, they held the position of Associate Director, Scientific Communications at Boehringer Ingelheim from November 2017 to June 2020.

Before joining Boehringer Ingelheim, Joseph worked as an Associate Manager, Scientific Communications at Acorda Therapeutics, Inc. from January 2016 to November 2017. Joseph also served as the Medical Director at ClinicalMind LLC from September 2013 to January 2016.

Joseph gained valuable experience as a Medical/Scientific Program Manager at QD Healthcare Group from November 2012 to September 2013. Joseph previously worked as a Senior Medical Writer and Medical Writer at Medicus International NY, a division of the Publicis Healthcare Communications Group, from August 2010 to October 2012 and from February 2012 to February 2012 respectively.

Earlier in their career, Joseph worked as an Assistant Editor for the Annals at the New York Academy of Sciences from June 2009 to August 2010. Joseph also interned at Forest Laboratories from September 2004 to October 2005 and served as a Teaching Assistant at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from September 2002 to December 2002.

Joseph Abrajano, PhD, CMPP, obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UCLA in 1999. Joseph went on to pursue their PhD in Neuroscience at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 2000 to 2009. In 2004, they also completed the Fundamentals of Bioscience Industry Program at Stony Brook University. In addition to their academic achievements, they hold certifications as a Certified Medical Publication Professional and a Certified Medical Publication Professional (CMPP) from the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP).
