Loukas Goulatis is a Senior Scientist at Boehringer Ingelheim, leading the phage display lead ID group to advance antibody discovery across various therapeutic areas since March 2022. Previously, Loukas served as a Senior Scientist I at AbbVie from 2018 to 2022, focusing on the discovery and optimization of antibodies using phage and yeast display. Loukas completed a Ph.D. in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where research involved engineering human antibody fragments for drug delivery across the blood-brain barrier under the guidance of Professor Eric V. Shusta. Notable achievements include mentoring undergraduate students, implementing advanced techniques for antibody validation, and enhancing intracellular delivery through innovative engineering methods. Earlier experiences include internships at NCSR "DEMOKRITOS" and the National Hellenic Research Foundation, focusing on polymer magnets and recombinant DNA techniques, respectively. Loukas holds a diploma in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and a high school diploma from Varvakeio Lukeio.
