Lead Design Engineer at Bold Valuable

Javier Mir has worked in the engineering field since 2017. In 2017, they were Team Leader at ETSEIB Motorsport, responsible for management tasks and car monocoque design. Javier was also responsible for CFRP monocoque laminates selection, using Altair Hypermesh to produce the most optimal lightweight structure, and ensuring complete rules compliance of the Formula Student car related to structural/chassis and driver's safety topics. In 2019, they joined Bold Valuable Technology as a Lead Design Engineer. In this role, they supported a F1 team in car components design using CATIA V5, developed CFRP components, internals (inserts & cores), tooling, jigs, etc. Javier also acted as a Junior Composites Design Engineer, performing structural study and design support for a high performance powertrain composite component, component laminate decision based on FEA simulation results, and quality check and reporting of all components before delivery to customer. Additionally, they provided support in concept and development phases for a battery pack for a motorsport customer.

Javier Mir holds a Máster en Ingeniería Industrial from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, which they obtained in 2019 after studying Ingeniería mecánica from 2013 to 2017. Javier also holds certifications from Autodesk, Technische Universiteit Delft, Cambridge Assessment English, and Cornell University, which they obtained in 2020, 2020, 2017, and an unknown year respectively.
