John Perkins has extensive work experience in the engineering field. John is currently employed as a Senior Water Resources Project Engineer at Bolton & Menk, Inc. since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked at WSB as a Project Manager from June 2020 to April 2021, and as a Project Engineer from June 2018 to June 2020.

Before joining WSB, John worked at Civiltech Engineering, Inc. as an Engineer IV from June 2016 to June 2018. John also has experience at Ciorba Group, Inc. where they served as an Engineer II from January 2015 to May 2016, and as an Engineer I from July 2012 to December 2014. Their responsibilities at Ciorba Group included technical report writing, cost estimating, bridge hydraulic analysis, stormwater analysis and design, and preparing drainage calculation reports.

In addition, John gained valuable experience as an Engineering Intern at The City of Iowa City from May 2011 to May 2012, where they were involved in construction inspection, drafting and design work using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and sanitary and storm sewer mapping. John also worked as an Engineering Technician at the US Army Corps of Engineers from May 2010 to April 2011, contributing to the Levee Safety Program by mapping and rectifying levee systems with ArcGIS and organizing construction drawings.

John's work experience showcases their expertise in water resources, project management, engineering design, and technical report writing.

John Perkins received their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Iowa, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. In August 2014, they obtained the certification of Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) from the Association of State Floodplain Managers, Inc. (ASFPM). Later, in August 2018, they obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID. Most recently, in August 2020, they obtained the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors.
