Peter Thompson has work experience in various roles and organizations.
In 2019, they worked as a Wastewater Intern at Brainerd Public Utilities for three months, gaining hands-on experience in wastewater management.
In the same year, they also served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Case Western Reserve University, assisting in research projects for nine months.
In 2020, they participated in the OWEA 2020 Student Design Competition where they worked as a Team Member. Peter partnered with Upper Tuscarawas wastewater treatment plant to evaluate alternative disposal methods for landfilled biosolids. Peter played a crucial role in constructing a decision matrix to choose composting as the preferred method and conducted a preliminary design for the facility. AutoCAD was used to develop site drawings, and they created an operation schedule for the composting facility.
Later in 2020, they joined Case Western Reserve University as a Teaching Assistant for the course "Surveying and Computer Graphics," where they provided support to students in their learning process for four months.
In 2021, they started working as an Environmental Design Engineer at Bolton & Menk, Inc. where they are currently employed.
Peter Thompson completed their education in a chronological manner. Peter obtained a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree from South Dakota State University from 2022 to 2024. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Case Western Reserve University from 2017 to 2021. Peter completed their high school education at the Academy of Holy Angels, receiving a High School Diploma from 2013 to 2017. Additionally, Peter has obtained several certifications, including an EIT Certification from the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience, and Interior Design in July 2021, a Fundamentals of Engineering Exam - Environmental certification from NCEES in February 2021, and an OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER Training certification from OSHA-Training.com in May 2020.
