Becky Clay Christensen has a diverse work experience in community health, affordable housing, and community development. Becky Clay worked as an Executive Director of Community Health at Bon Secours Mercy Health from 2015 to present. Prior to that, they were the Director of Community Health Services and a Consultant at Bon Secours Health System from 2009 to 2015. Becky Clay also served as a Consultant Staff at Virginia Housing Coalition and Housing Virginia from 2010 to 2014. In 1998, they founded The Clay Christensen Group, where they worked as a Managing Principal until 2014, providing training and organizational development services. Becky Clay was also the Executive Director of Virginia Microenterprise Network from 1998 to 2000. Previously, they held roles as a Program Manager at the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development from 1989 to 1997. During their time there, they played a key role in delivering capacity building programs and administering housing programs.
Becky Clay Christensen received a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration from Ferrum College in the years 1978 to 1980. Becky Clay also completed an Associate of Arts (A.A.) program in Education and Business at Patrick & Henry Community College.
