Dan Wichelecki has extensive experience in scientific research and development. Dan co-founded Bonumose, where they served as the Chief Scientific Officer. During their time at Bonumose, they focused on using enzymes to produce rare molecules from common materials on a commercial scale. Prior to Bonumose, Wichelecki worked as a Senior Scientist II at Cell-Free Bioinnovations. Dan also held research positions at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant and a Graduate Student Research Assistant. Their research at the university involved discovering novel metabolic pathways and characterizing proteins of unknown function. Wichelecki's research experience began at the US Army Corps of Engineers, where they worked as an Undergraduate Student Researcher and Full-time Researcher.
Dan Wichelecki pursued their education at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. From 2004 to 2008, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology. Subsequently, they continued their studies at the same institution and completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biochemistry from 2009 to 2014.
