Matt Hubbell has over twelve years of experience in accounting and finance. Matt began their career in 2008 at KPMG as a Senior Audit Associate, where they specialized in Oil and Gas, Mining, and Biopharmaceutical clientele and achieved their CPA designation within their first year. In 2010, they took a role as a Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual, providing needs-based analysis and financial solutions to help ensure clients' needs were met. From 2012 to 2013, they worked at Bauerle and Company, PC as a Senior II Accountant, providing assurance and tax services to closely held businesses and individuals, specializing in Construction clientele. Matt then moved to The Siegfried Group as an Associate Manager. In 2015, they took on the role of Financial Controller at Paperless Post, focusing on the company's financial reporting as well as day-to-day financial operations. From 2017 to 2021, they held the roles of Controller and Senior Controller at Tommy John, playing an integral role in the due diligence process that led to an investment in 2021 (see Yahoo News article on Manny Chirico investment in Tommy John). Matt then joined UrbanStems as Controller, where they migrated sales tax return filings to Avalara, manually filing 40+ returns until the migration was complete. In 2022, they joined Book of the Month as Director of Accounting & Finance and Controller.

Matt Hubbell received their Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Pepperdine University between 2003 and 2007. Matt then went on to pursue a Master of Accounting degree at the University of Southern California, which they completed in 2008. Additionally, they hold a CPA certification from the State of Colorado.
