David Hunter

Director of Software Engineering at Boom Supersonic

David is Director of Software Engineering and brings more than 30 years of professional software experience to Boom Supersonic. In this role, David is responsible for all custom software at Boom that isn’t an aircraft system and oversees a team which owns a diverse software portfolio including: flight test control room, supersonic flight planning, high performance computing, and an aircraft conceptual design framework. Before joining Boom, David worked with companies like Dow Jones, David Sarnoff Research Center, iRobot, Hess Oil, and Wave Systems, filling roles such as CTO, SVP Product Development, and managing domestic and international technical teams. David’s software has run in noteworthy organizations including the U.S. Marines in Bosnia, an oil refinery, Boston University Hospital Cancer Center, Dow Jones real‐time newsroom, U.S. Forestry Service, inside Diebold ATMs-- his software was also factory installed on hundreds of millions of Dell laptops.

David holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics and Computer Science. In his spare time, he is a glider pilot and past President of a flight school.
