Drew Farris

Drew Farris is an experienced professional in analytics and artificial intelligence, currently serving as Principal/Director at Booz Allen Hamilton since August 2011, with previous roles including Chief Technologist and Lead Associate. Farris has been a member and committer for the Apache Software Foundation since February 2010, contributing to the Mahout Machine Learning Project. As an author, Farris published "Taming Text" in January 2013 through Manning Publications, which explores open source tools for search and natural language processing. Earlier career experiences include positions as Software Engineer V at L-3 Communications and Chief Software Engineer at TextWise, where core algorithms for semantic technology were developed. Farris obtained an M.S. in Information Resource Management and a B.F.A. in Computer Graphics from Syracuse University.
