Jan Hecking

Jan Hecking is an experienced software engineer and architect with a diverse range of roles in various companies. In 2002, they began their career as a Software Engineer at VerdiSoft, where they worked until 2005. From 2005 to 2012, Jan worked at Yahoo, first as a Software Engineer and later as a Principal Software Engineer. At Yahoo, they led the rearchitecture of the video platform and served as the contact point for the security team. In 2012, they joined travelmob / HomeAway Asia as an Architect, where they played a key role in the acquisition by HomeAway Inc. In 2016, Jan became a Technical Consultant at Evie.ai, an A.I. admin assistant company, and then worked as a Technical Consultant at Aerospike, Inc. from 2015 to 2019. At Aerospike, they implemented client SDKs for the Aerospike NoSQL database. Currently, Jan is serving as the Chief Architect at Borneo.

Jan Hecking completed high school at Dahlmannschule in 1995. From 1996 to 2002, they attended Universität Rostock and earned a Diplom degree, which is the German equivalent of a M.Sc. degree, in Computer Science.
