Director Of Building Operations at Boston Athenæum

Gregory Morris has a diverse work experience. Gregory currently serves as the Director of Building Operations at the Boston Athenæum since February 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the Harvard University Graduate School of Education where they held various positions including Director of Facilities from June 2021 to January 2023 and Facilities Manager from October 2018 to June 2021. In between their roles at Harvard, they worked at ABM Industries as a Facilities Manager and later as an Account Manager (Acting) from March 2018 to October 2018. Gregory was also responsible for facilities contracts management and managing the CMMS programs at Harvard. Before joining ABM Industries, Gregory worked as a Building Engineer at CBRE from December 2016 to May 2017. Gregory also gained internship experience at Veolia North America, Exelon, and Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA). Additionally, Gregory served in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Ordnance Collateral Duty Inspector and Aviation Ordnance Technician from September 2010 to August 2014.

Then, from 2014 to 2017, Gregory pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Facilities Engineering at Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Continuing their education at Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Gregory earned a Master of Science degree in Facilities Management from 2017 to 2019.

Furthermore, Gregory obtained various certifications. In September 2014, they received CPR/First Aid certification from the American Red Cross. Gregory also acquired a 2nd Class Fireman certification from Massachusetts DPS in June 2017. Additionally, in August 2016, they gained the Massachusetts Wastewater Operator Grade 5C certification from The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Board of Certification of Wastewater Treatment Facilities. In October 2019, Gregory completed the Hot Work Safe Practices certification offered by NFPA. Finally, in December 2022, they obtained the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification from the Association of Energy Engineers.
