Senior Director, Impact Investments at Boston Financial

Hannah Blitzer has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of affordable housing and community development. Hannah started their career with Advocates for Children of New York as a Parent Information Specialist from 1999 to 2001. Hannah then worked at the Robin Hood Foundation as an Associate Program Officer from 2001 to 2003.

In 2005, they joined Citi Community Capital as a Vice President, where they originated, underwrote, closed, and monitored loans for affordable housing developers. Hannah handled loan volumes of $100 million per year and worked on projects utilizing Low Income Housing Tax Credits, tax-exempt bond financing, and local and state subsidies. Hannah'stenure at Citi Community Capital ended in 2008.

From 2008 to 2014, Hannah worked at the Low Income Investment Fund, starting as a Loan Officer and progressing to become the Director of National Strategic Initiatives. Hannah originated, underwrote, and closed various types of loans for affordable housing, charter schools, healthcare centers, and community facilities. Hannah also led research and development of new products and programs, managing cross-functional teams, structured capital, developed financial models, and built partnerships.

Hannah then moved on to the Office of the Mayor of New York City, where they served as a Senior Advisor to the Deputy Mayor for Housing & Economic Development from 2014 to 2018. In this role, they were responsible for housing policy and acted as a liaison between City Hall and the Housing Authority, Department of Housing Preservation and Development, and Housing Development Corporation. Hannah secured Mayoral approval for policies and operational strategies related to affordable housing and oversaw the development of affordable and market-rate housing projects on underutilized NYCHA land.

From 2018 to 2022, Hannah worked at the New York City Housing Development Corporation as the Managing/Executive Director of Public Housing Finance & Lending Strategies. Hannah oversaw the lending platform for the rehabilitation of public housing, including conversion methods such as the HUD Rental Assistance Demonstration program. Hannah managed a team of Project Managers and executed lending strategies to support the Corporation's mission.

Currently, Hannah Blitzer is the Senior Director of Impact Investments at Boston Financial. Hannah heads the lending strategy for American Community Capital, the company's community development financial institution. Hannah'sresponsibilities include developing business plans, policies, and procedures for a national impact lending platform. Hannah oversees all stages of the lending process, from origination to portfolio management.

Hannah Blitzer pursued their undergraduate education from 1995 to 1999 at Wesleyan University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Psychology-Sociology. Later, from 2003 to 2005, they attended the Yale School of Management to attain their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
