Lyudmila Volchansky has a diverse background in the fashion industry. Lyudmila is currently working as a Designer at Boston Proper since September 2021. Previously, they gained experience as an Associate Designer at HUGO BOSS from January 2017 to January 2020. Before that, they were an Assistant Designer at Free People from May 2014 to June 2016. Additionally, Lyudmila worked as a Personal Shopping/Wardrobe Consultant at Barneys New York from September 2012 to January 2013. Lyudmila also interned as an Oscar de la Renta Design Intern in summer 2012. Prior to that, they were involved in Apparel Design at Kenneth Cole Productions from January 2012 to August 2012. Lyudmila started their career as a Design Assistant at Rubin & Chapelle from January 2012 to July 2012. Lastly, they gained experience as an Art Gallery Assistant at HUB-Robeson Galleries from June 2005 to June 2009.
Lyudmila Volchansky has a diverse education history. Lyudmila started their higher education journey in 2005 at Penn State University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Francophone Studies, focusing on language, history, civilization, and literature. During their time at Penn State, they also pursued several other Bachelor of Arts degrees, including International/Global Studies with a specialization in the Middle Eastern oil crisis, and Russian literature and poetry. Additionally, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in World Languages Education.
In 2008, Lyudmila had the opportunity to further their education in France. Lyudmila completed an apprenticeship at Chocolaterie Theobrama in Montpellier, specializing in chocolates, confections, and pastries. Lyudmila also studied Les Lettres at l'Université Paul-Valéry in Montpellier during the same year.
In 2010, Lyudmila attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, where they pursued an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Womenswear Apparel Design.
In terms of certifications, Lyudmila obtained several additional certifications to enhance their education. In 2021, they completed a certification in Sustainable Fashion from the Copenhagen Business School. In 2020, they obtained certifications in Arts and Culture Strategy from the University of Pennsylvania & National Arts Strategies, Modern Art and Ideas from The Museum of Modern Art, and Arts and Heritage Management from Università Bocconi.
