Graduate Student at Boston University

Benjamin Snyder is a graduate student at Boston University, studying cortical microcircuits in primate frontal cortices with a focus on the anterior cingulate cortex. Prior experience includes serving as a Lab Manager and Research Associate at the University of California, San Francisco, where contributions were made to research on neural circuitry related to pain, addiction, and headache. Benjamin assisted researchers in investigating neurotransmitter content and its implications for pain and reward. An earlier role as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Adesnik Laboratory involved classifying novel cell types in the mouse barrel cortex and designing experiments for enhanced imaging. Additional experience includes food service and event management at the International House at UC Berkeley. Benjamin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology and Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, and is currently pursuing an MD/PhD at Boston University School of Medicine, expected to complete in 2026.
