Ian Hanson is a highly experienced professional in forensic archaeology and anthropology, currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow at MaGPIE since November 2023 and at Bournemouth University since January 2002. Throughout a distinguished career, Ian has held various academic positions, including Senior Lecturer and Visiting Research Fellow. Ian is also the Deputy Chair of the European Working Group for Forensic Archaeology and serves as Director on the Board of Directors for the AFFIC Foundation in Colombia. Previously, Ian was Deputy Director of Forensic Science for Archaeology and Anthropology at the ICMP, where responsibilities included project development and scientific standards. Ian has extensive consulting experience and provided crucial support during mass grave investigations for the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. Ian's educational background includes degrees in Archaeology and Forestry and Business Management from reputable universities.
