Ben Jarihani

Senior Research Fellow at University of the Sunshine Coast

Ben Jarihani is a highly experienced academic and data scientist currently serving as a Senior Lecturer, Senior Data Scientist, and Senior Research Fellow at James Cook University since September 2022. Additional roles include Program Lead for Transformational Agricultural Systems at the Tropical North Queensland Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub, and a long-standing position as Senior Research Fellow at the University of the Sunshine Coast. Ben's previous experience includes serving as an Assistant Professor and Senior Research Scientist at the University of Central Asia, as well as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in collaboration with CSIRO. With a Ph.D. in Spatial Hydrology and a strong foundation in Geographic Information Systems, Ben has a robust background in hydrology, spatial data analysis, and environmental sciences, complemented by over seven years in water engineering and project management.
