Richard G. Thackray

Richard Thackray is the President of Bow River Capital. He has worked in the Private Equity industry as a founder, investor, operator, and board member since 1997.

Prior to joining Bow River Capital, Richard was a Managing Director at Partners Group in Denver, where he oversaw strategy, governance and performance in the Americas’ private equity and private infrastructure portfolio of 24 companies.

Prior highlights include building Europe's first online financial institution, founding Elwin Capital Partners, a global growth equity fund, and leading Heidrick & Struggles' Private Markets practice in Europe. Richard's early career includes serving as an officer in the Royal Navy, working at Boston Consulting Group and Morgan Grenfell Development Capital, a private equity firm affiliated with Deutsche Bank.

Richard is a graduate of Britannia Royal Naval College, University of London and he received an MBA from Harvard Business School.
