Tigist Beshe

Tigist has over five years of experience teaching software development at the post-secondary level. She has taught at Arba Minch University in Ethiopia and at SAIT, and has worked as a researcher and software developer in Amsterdam. As her first job in Canada, she worked as a school IT technical support specialist for the Calgary Board of Education.

Like her work experience, Tigist’s education spans continents: she earned a diploma in computer science at Mekelle University in Ethiopia, a bachelor’s degree in computer science and IT at Arba Minch University, and a master’s degree in geo-informatics at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In addition, in 2017, she earned the Microsoft Technology Associate: Database Fundamentals certification.

TG (as she’s known by her friends) moved to Canada for its ample opportunities for her family, settling in Calgary in 2015.
