Ruel Calalo

Senior Application Developer at Stanford University

Ruel is a senior application developer in the School of Humanities and Sciences, Information Technology department. He designs, implements, and maintains various systems for H&S. He manages all aspects of the HandsOn system, contributes to the Salesforce/SFACT System, and built the Request-a-Room interface to 25Live. He manages software lifecycle using the H&S Jira, Agile Board, and Bitbucket repository.

Ruel graduated in physics from Berkeley and San Jose State. He interned at SLAC and LBL. Before returning to Stanford, he worked as a scientist and engineer at JPL, Lockheed Martin, Kodak, Hewlett-Packard, and AnimationMentor. At AnimationMentor, Ruel experienced the melding of web-based collaboration software, visual arts, and diverse skill sets.

Outside of his office, we might see Ruel in a Stanford gym, in a continuing education course, auditing a Stanford physics or math course, or taking pictures at an H&S IT event.
