Wayne F. Lang

Instructor, Business Administration at BOW VALLEY COLLEGE

Wayne has been an instructor in the Business Administration program since 2009, teaching Business Finance, Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Business Strategy courses. Wayne is a strong advocate of continuous education; his MBA and professional designations were all achieved while working full-time. Wayne also attended the Executive Education Mergers program at Northwestern University in Chicago.

Prior to Bow Valley College, Wayne’s business experience includes progressively senior roles with RBC Capital Markets, Nortel Networks, Telus, and Bank of Montreal. Wayne was a former vice-president of investment banking at RBC Capital Markets. His work experience includes roles in the following functional areas: management accounting, financial accounting, capital budgeting, business planning and analysis, investment banking (large corporations), commercial banking (mid-sized business), venture capital (small business), and mergers and acquisitions. He also has international business experience while working with Nortel Networks. In addition, he has analyzed several merger candidates and led preliminary merger discussions with businesses located in Israel and California. A career highlight, while at Nortel, includes working with a small software business located in the United Kingdom to develop a business growth strategy that resulted in a $27 million increase in valuation, and negotiated the sale of the business with private equity investors located in the United Kingdom and the United States.
