Alisha Austin

Product Design at BrainPOP

Alisha Austin, MA has a diverse work experience in the field of design. Alisha began their career in 2015 as a Project Lead at Design for America. Alisha then worked as a User Researcher and UX writer at Warren in 2016. In the same year, they also worked as a Product Design & Copywriting intern at Marx | Betaworks and as a Copywriter at Parcel | Betaworks.

In 2017, Alisha served as a Design Apprentice at the Mayor's Office for Economic Opportunity and as a Designer at IDEO CoLab, where they worked on a makeathon project exploring the use of Blockchain in healthcare. Alisha continued their work at IDEO CoLab in 2018 as a Winter Fellow.

Alisha joined Johnson & Johnson in 2018 as a Digital Experience Designer, where they worked until 2019. Currently, they are working at BrainPOP as a Product Design professional, starting in December 2019. With their experience in user experience and digital design, Alisha has developed a range of skills in visual and UX design, as well as in research and copywriting.

Alisha Austin obtained a Master's Degree in Creative Writing and Journalism from the New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study in 2016. Prior to that, they attended the American University of Paris and studied Media, Culture and Communications, although their degree was not specified. Alisha also holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English and Cross Cultural Studies from Nyack College. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained multiple certifications, including an IBM Enterprise Design Thinking Practitioner certification from IBM in February 2019. Alisha also has certifications in various areas such as strategic thinking, virtual reality foundations, animation foundations, and user experience design, among others, from institutions like Lynda.com.
