John Rong has a diverse work experience spanning different industries. John currently works as a Product Designer at BrainPOP since March 2021. Prior to that, they were associated with Accenture Interactive, where they held the position of UX Designer from November 2017 to February 2021. During their tenure at Accenture, John led the design, research, and UX efforts across multiple product teams for a Fortune 500 client. John successfully implemented UX improvements that resulted in significant revenue impacts.
Before joining Accenture Interactive, John briefly worked as a Junior UX Designer at Clearhead, a part of Accenture Interactive.
John also has experience in the education sector, having worked as an AP Chemistry Teacher and Chemistry Lead at Arlington ISD from August 2016 to July 2017. John developed innovative instructional strategies, designed a learning management system course, and significantly improved the school's AP Chemistry exam passing rate. Prior to this role, John worked as a Pre-AP and On-Level Chemistry Teacher at Arlington ISD from August 2014 to July 2016.
John Rong earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with Teaching from The University of Texas at Austin, where they attended from 2009 to 2014. In addition to their degree, they obtained the UserTesting Foundational Certification from UserTesting in December 2020. Furthermore, they hold certifications from the Texas Education Agency, including the State Board for Educator Certification in Composite Science for Grades 4-8 and Grades 8-12, which they obtained in July 2014.
